Every duck has a journey. We keep it forever.

One duck. One code. One story that keeps going.
A Duck Journey is the story of one duck, kept in order, for as long as that duck keeps moving.
Every duck in The Original Duck Tracker™ has its own name and its own code. That code stays with it as its recorded story grows — through hides, finds, keeps, and whatever comes next. The Journey is the record that builds up behind it: where it's been, what happened there, and who was recorded as part of it.
Not a list of places. A story with a subject.
A Journey grows by recorded moments.
When someone hides a duck, that's a moment. When a finder marks it Found, that's a moment. Keeping it, hiding it again — each one is recorded, dated, and added to the duck's Journey in order.
The moments come from what people record about the duck, not from passing traffic. A Journey is a record of things that happened, which is what makes it worth reading later.
When a participant isn't identified, the Journey still keeps the moment — recorded as a Mystery Hider, a Mystery Finder, or a Mystery Keeper. The story stays complete even when the cast doesn't.
Plenty of things reset. A scavenger list ends when the sailing ends. A group photo album fills up and closes.
A Duck Journey doesn't reset. The duck that was hidden on a Lido deck in June is the same duck, with the same code and the same accumulated story, when someone finds it months later somewhere else entirely. Nothing starts over. The next chapter is added to the ones already there.
That's the difference: not a record of a trip, but a record of a duck.
A Duck Journey can begin anywhere a duck is hatched — aboard a ship, at home, in a park, at a meetup.
Cruise ships are where most of ours live right now, and they're wonderful for it: thousands of people, decks full of hiding places, a new port every morning. But the Journey isn't a cruise feature. A duck hatched on land and hidden on land has exactly the same kind of Journey as one hatched at sea — same code, same permanence, same accumulating story.
A single Journey can hold both. Hidden on a ship, found in a port, kept for a while, hidden again down the road. It's all one record, because it's all one duck.
Depending on where a duck's moments were pinned, a Journey can open into a closer view.
A Deck Journey opens the ship's deck plan and shows where ducks are hiding aboard, deck by deck and zone by zone.
A Map Journey is its counterpart on land, placing a duck's most recent pinned moment geographically instead of by deck.
Not every duck has either one — it depends on whether its moments were pinned, and a duck's most recent pin decides which of the two opens. Both are members-only. The Duck Journey is the whole story; these are separate ways of exploring it.
These are open to anyone — no account, no sign-in. Each one shows a different shape a Journey can take.
Hidden on Carnival Dream's Deck 5 Promenade by a Mystery Hider, found the next day, and hidden again two decks down. A short Journey, and a good look at how one recorded moment leads to the next.
Hidden aboard Carnival Dream, then found ashore in San Salvador, Bahamas — a Journey that crossed from ship to shore in a single step. Ready to be hidden again.
An example Journey we keep available to show what a long one looks like: fourteen recorded moments across two ships, Carnival Dream and Carnival Jubilee, including Mystery Travel, which marks an unrecorded step inferred between recorded moments.
It doesn't have an ending built in. As long as people keep hiding, finding, and keeping a duck, its Journey keeps taking on chapters. If a duck goes quiet for a while, nothing is lost — the record stays exactly as it was, waiting for whatever happens next.
Keeping is a real moment in the Journey, not the end of one. A keeper decides to hold onto a duck for a while — as a keepsake, a souvenir, a small reminder of a good day. Later, that same duck can be hidden again, and its Journey continues from where it left off with everything before it still intact.
The people recorded as part of it. A hatcher starts a duck off. Hiders place it. Finders discover it. Keepers hold onto it. Ducks can also be co-hatched, when more than one person is behind the same duck. Anyone who takes part without being identified is still recorded — as a Mystery Hatcher, Mystery Hider, Mystery Finder, or Mystery Keeper — so the Journey never has a hole in it.
